Hopi Famous Artist Thomas Pashano is from First Mesa (old Hopi village) Norhteastern Arizona. The Hopis often call this clown the Hano or Tewa Clown. The Tewa village seem to have introduced this Kachina to the Hopi Mesas.These clowns are considered to be the fathers of the Kachinas. They behave in an usual manner of pueblo clowns, engaging in loud and boisterous conversation, and immoderate actions. They are often drummers for the Hopi Dances. This Full Figure Clown Kachina is 7 in. x 2.25 in. wide.
