Hopi Most Famous Artist Charles Ami is from First Mesa(old Hopi village)Northeastern Arizona. Soyok' Wuhti is the Ogre Woman of First Mesa who appears after or during the Powamu and asks children to hunt or grind for her and threatens to eat them if they do not. When she reappears with all of the monsters her arms are bloodstained and carries a long crook for catching children, as well as a huge blood-stained knife. She pauses from time to time to fling her stringy hair back from her staring eyes as she searches for some young child to eat. 's a picture of Charles earlier today after he finished this Orge Woman Kachina for me. This Full Figure Soyok,Wuhti Kachina is 9 in. x 2.5 in. wide.
I know Charles and all the Hopi Artists work, I collect from. Brand new Kachina, made from cotton wood root, retail price $ 600.00 !
