Magnificent American mahogany 12 piece carved dining room suite. Believed to be attributed to R.J. Horner. Made in the early 1900's. Fabulous and one of the best suites we've seen in many years. This dining room suite comes from the Vogt family in Louisville Kentucky. The Vogt's were prominant business owners and manufactures in the early to mid 1900's. Consisting of a massive 54" oval dining table. (10 leaves!!!), massive sideboard, rare wine or linen closet or armoire, 8 chairs and server. Made from the best solid mahogany woods. Beautiful graining throughout. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Original finish or surface. Very clean and one of the finest original surfaces you will find. Profusely carved. Matching complete suite. Very hard to find an all matching turn of century suite of this quality. The dining table is round with four legs and a large center leg. Matching carved claw feet. This table is 54" in diameter. APPROX. WEIGHT IS 150 LBS. Opens and closes perfectly. T are 10 original leaves and the original wooden case or shipping crate. These leaves are 9" wide. The leaves are numbered. APPROX. WEIGHT OF THE LEAVES AND CASE, 75 POUNDS. Nice, to save time when extending the table. Each leaf fits perfectly. The table extends to 144" or 12 FEET!!! Very sturdy and tight table. The top of this table is in very good to excellent condition. Beautiful top. The legs are also carved. T are two original brass locks underneath which secures and locks the top in place. The underneath is also very, very clean. The leaves are also made of solid mahogany. The leaves are in near mint condition. The table extends easily and smoothly. No gaps when opened or closed (NICE!!!). Eight outstanding set of chairs. Two arm or captain chairs and 6 side chairs. Carved shell tops with harp style backs. Hand carved legs with ball and claw feet. These feet could also be considered talon feet. Very solid and sturdy. Reupholstered years ago. The upholstery is flame style or pattern. The color is timely today. These chairs are solid, sturdy and heavy.APPROX. WEIGHT OF EACH CHAIR IS 15 POUNDS. Massive and impressive sideboard with a highback hooded top. Large lion head on the top center and full carved griffins Beautiful acanthus carvings throughout. Matching fan carvings on the doors. Large carved posts and huge original beveled mirror. Candle shelves with carved claw feet which support each candle shelf. The mirror is in very good to excellent condition. This sideboard is made in two pieces. (base and mirrored top). Large hand carved claw feet. T are two large lions or griffins on either side. T are three drawers and three doors. The drawers are all dovetailed and have their original brass door hinges. Ornate hand carved drawer pulls. Original drawer bottoms. Very clean inside and out. Original wood back boards behind the mirror. Very rare linen closet or wardrobe. Matching fan carved doors. Large matching lion head in the center top. Solid mahogany shelves. Matching hand carved griffins and claw feet. This linen closet has the original brass hinges and hardware. The base has a large drawer. Original wood back. Very clean throughout. Matching server. Hand carved matching fan carving to the doors and ornate carved drawers. Matching hand carved feet. Original brass hinges and hardware. T is a backsplash or cornice. Again, very clean inside and out. We have the original old casters for the table and sideboard. The overall condition is very good to excellent. Good original surface or finish. All pieces are tight, sturdy and heavy. The tops of the the table, sideboard and server are extremely clean. Some minor nicks, scratches and dings. Typical age wear. Some light wear to original finish. The legs are feet are in excellent condition. Overall measurements: TABLE 54" DIAMETER. THE HEIGHT IS 29". 10 (9 INCH LEAVES). EXTENDS TO 12 FEET. SIDEBOARD: 67" IN LENGTH. 25" DEPTH. 80" IN HEIGHT.
