This is an outstanding pair of circa 1890s to 1900 Solid Quartsawn Oak fireplace surround columns attributed to Horner. The pair came from a local estate, and were mounted around a fireplace and topped with a marble top. The pair are superiorly carved out of solid quartersawn oak and each feature the finest hand carved bearded lions on the tops, with a further C-scroll type of carving on the upper sides. The columns end in magnificent, huge full paw feet. The grain of the wood is beautiful and rich and retains their original finish. Each column measures 48-3/4" high, 7" at widest and 8" deep. These columns are Not to be missed and we are starting the bid low, with no reserve!
