From the renowned Hornsea Pottery company that closed down some 13 years ago, in the year 2000 A great early "Retro" Mug from 1976 and d esigned by the reputable and outstanding John Clappison, who sadly passed away this year. Bronte classic design, the much sought after, 1st real classic Hornsea mug . Clearly marked with the words "Hornsea - made in England" and 1976 on the base, so an early example. Would be a great display item or a fantastic present. In really nice condition, it does have some crazing inside but does not detract from this nice Bronte example.. Hornsea is very collectable and getting more sought after as the years go by.
