Stunning Huntsman & Hound sculpture. Huntsman and a Hound on solid cast base. I bought this a while ago (along with another similar statue/Horse related also listed) as I fell in love with them on the spot! I paid a lot of money for them, but we are running out of room, so am reluctantly selling these. I live close to the Beaufort Hunt grounds so it was a relevant and significant scene for me when I bought it. ( although I personally do not approve of hunting with dogs , seeing the horses and hounds running and enjoying the chance to "let rip" is part of country life here!) The detail of this piece is excellent with reins, boots, and even the Huntsman face picked out well. although not a huge piece. what it lacks in size is makes up for in detailing! This statue is VERY heavy. Please bear this in mind when collecting! The base is approx 14 inches long x 7 inches deep. Approx 11 inches to the Huntsman Hat/head (It is quite a large piece!) They are marked/signed "P J MENE" but I do not have any authenticity papers for it, I bought it from an antiques dealer without some years ago. (see pics for signature.) I assume its bronze, but it may be spelter, I am sorry Iam no expert.
