HORSE MOUNTAIN IRIS AGATE ONE OF AMERICAS FINEST IRIS AGATES IF YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR HIGH GRADE IRIS, THIS IS FOR YOU !! You are bidding on HORSE MOUNTAIN IRIS AGATE. This material is from closed sites in middle Tennessee and while relatively unknown today to all but some old time rock hounds, this is some of the WORLDS BEST. Mentioned in Judith Zeitners " APPALACHIAN MINERAL & GEM TRAILS " in 1968 this material has been long gone. This stone is backlit with a 40w incandescent bulb for pictures and the camera is a Nikon D40X. Please note before you go further in this listing I wish for you to consider the following. Because I happen to have a number of pieces of iris to sell and indeed have listed many do not think for one second that this is common material--it is not. See below for just what is Iris Agate. This is one of those stones that reminds me of Montana except the color variation as the pictures show is I believe greater. This POLISHED stone is 2" x 1.5" x .10 to .07" in size. The bands of lower vivid level iris are .4" wide and 2" long. I can say that this is a specimen well worth having if you like iris. These pictures are not watermarked or copywritten so please copy if you wish for your entertainment and I do hope you enjoy them. If you do so I would appreciate credit however if used in public. I will send the winning bidder a cd with the origional hi res and the cropped pictures used for this listing if they request it. What you are bidding on is what you see. I will combine shipping, (when ever possible) on items bought at the same time. In addition to this accumulation over time for combined shipping is available to repeat customers. INSURANCE AND REFUNDS Insurance is required if you want to be protected.
