This 2-3/4" tall 'Hotel Silver' creamer has wonderfully clear Gorham maker's marks, including a detailed sailboat that indicates it was made in 1926. The fluted shape, art deco handle and just the sheer loveliness of the silver are outstanding. This is one of the smoother hotel silver pieces I've seen; it does have some nicks, scratches and edge wear but less than usual. Structurally it is also in great shape. The inside has some marks which a little more energetic polishing will most likely diminish. Now the Couch Operating Company could be a number of different things - my google search produced a connection with the Kansas City Southern Railroad (Harvey Couch, former owner/president, headed three utility operating companies in his time), with the Pullman Couch Company, the Couch Brothers Manufacturing Company, plus t's a city called Couch Missouri. Regardless of the company, this is a very nice creamer that was made by Gorham with that nice 'hotel silver' silver soldered weight. Please see the pictures and e-mail me with any questions.
