This is a E. Howard & Co., Boston clock in original condition except for new cable for the weight put in maybe 50 years ago. This clock has been in my New England family I assume since new. The paper label inside the lower box area, which is in very good condition, has a rubber stamp across the label "February 24, 1898". The paint on the glass (lower and middle, have some lifting of paint. Wood is in very good condition for its age. Clock is 29" tall. I had the clock serviced 9 years ago and it ran fine but I don't run it anymore as it is in a room not used. The wood at the hinges and the latches has worn allowing doors to sag which is common for a clock 116 years old. Being offered "No Returns or Exchanges" so ask any questions you might have before bidding. Can be picked up if you are in my area. Note 1-29-2014: An inquirer suggested gently moving the hour hand back and forth to remove it so that I could get the dial face off in order to reveal the gears work. I have done so and have added a picture of the gear works that clearly show "E. Howard & Co. Boston" and the number "5". Mentioned earlier to an inquiry, the weight is a number "5". Also, shipping may be UPS and/or FedEx in addition to USPS as originally listed at my option.
