Howard Council has made over 256 appearances at the NFR as a Saddle Maker. He has made saddles for over 53 years and is know as making the best roping saddle ever ridden. T is a five year waiting list to get in line to begin waiting for a new Howard Council saddle and he is making very few new ones, which start over $5000. It is extremely difficult to find a used Howard Council saddle because most cowboys won't part with them or a few savvy collectors snap them up immediately. This is your chance to own a piece of American cowboy history in your collection or impress your horse and your friends with a great saddle. This is a nice older Howard Council saddle. It has a 14 1/2 inch seat, 2 inch cantle and a wide gullet. I think it was built in the mid 80's. . It really fits a horse well and is a very strong/solid saddle in good working condition. It was refleeced and the cinch keeper has been replaced by J. Neuman. This saddle can be used for calf roping, team roping or steer roping, but you might want to just put it in you living room and watch it appreciate. UPDATE: T is a date stamp on the left fender indicating this saddle was built in 1969.
