HPL: A TRIBUTE TO H.P. LOVECRAFT (1971). One-shot magazine issued by Meade and Penny Frierson. Quite a magnificent publication, printed on glossy paper, 142 pp, with fairly small print. Limited to 1000 copies. Much impressive artwork by TIM KIRK, STEPHEN FABIAN, HERB ARNOLD, and many more. The written contents include both articles and fiction. Essays or comments by E. HOFFMANN PRICE, ROBERT BLOCH. FRITZ LEIBER. RICHARD TIERNEY (his groundbreaking "The Derleth Mythos," which is really the beginning of modern Lovecraft scholarship), JOSEPH PAYNE BRENNAN, GEORGE WETZEL, and many more. Fiction by MANLY WADE WELLMAN, JOSEPH PUMILIA, GARY MYERS, JAMES WADE, RAMSEY CAMPBELL, BRIAN LUMLEY, and even some newcomer named Darrell Schweitzer. Verse by RICHARD TIERNEY, L. SPRAGUE DE CAMP, ROBERT E. HOWARD, etc. This was certainly the most impressive fan publication about Lovecraft published to this date. Go ahead and look around on eBay for other copies. There are some, but they tend to start at about three times what I am asking here. This is a bargain copy because of the ugly tape on the cover.Always happy to combine postage on multiple wins.
