Offered for yourconsideration is what I believe to be a lidded pitcher in the Crooksville Chinapattern, Silhouette, from the Bak-In Ware line produced in the 1930s, although it is unmarked. The color is ivory with black trim, and features the silhouettes of a begging dog, and a man and a woman seated at a table. This pitcher is very large by today’s standards. The height is 6” (measurement includes knob on the lid) and the distance from the spout to the tip of the handle is 8”. There is some crazing ~ but, no cracks or fleabites. There are a couple of spots on the black trim that the paint did not cover, and at fist glance appear to be fleabites, but they are not. Inside, there are the beginnings of stress cracks. These are not cracks yet; there is no edge that can be felt with your fingertip. This area is pictured, and is stable. The crazing at the top of the handle is the most unstable area of the entire piece, and there is a tiny fleck of paint missing that I believe is missing due to crazing. The lid appears to be free of cracks and chips and crazing. This lovely item would be a beautiful display piece. I will double box it for safety.
