RARE ORIGINAL LARGE SIZE 7" BY 11" HUBLEY CAST IRON COCKER SPANIEL SPRINGER SPANIEL DOG DOOR STOP DOORSTOP. This is the LARGEST Cocker Spaniel Doorstop that Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, PA, produced in the 1930's. It is pictured in their catalog as item #487. This doorstop was originally painted white, as can be seen on the bottom of the dog, but it has a very old gold repaint. When the paint started to chip off these old doorstops, people often painted them to resemble a family pet. It measures a full 7" tall and 11" long and weighs almost 7 pounds! These large vintage Hubley dogs are very scarce and hard to find. Most are found in the smaller 4" by 6" size. It is a two piece casting that is held together by two flathead screws. The screws have never been removed and are still visible covered with putty under the paint. The seams fit together very tightly, even though it has had a repaint. As you can see by the last photo, it has the " Husky Seal of Approval "!
