ORIGINAL AND RARE 1930'S HUBLEY CAST IRON FULL FIGURE SCOTTISH TERRIER SCOTTIE SCOTTY DOORSTOP DOOR STOP! This Wonderful and Heavy Scotty Dog Doorstop was made by Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster, PA in the 1920's - 1930's and measures 9" tall and 11" long. It is heavy, weighing approximately 10 pounds and has exquisite detail, including the characteristic Hubley "Scotty eyes" that also appear on their sitting Scotty bookends, banks and paperweights from the era. It is a two-piece mold held together with two flat-head screws. One is exposed (see photo), but has never been removed and the seams are still extremely tight. T is no rust and the original finish is still in very good condition, though one side is less shiny in the bright sun than the other due to exposure. I'm sure it could be cleaned and polished to a brighter shine, though in indoor light, the difference is not very evident. T are some scratches around the mouth. The eyes are still in near perfect condition. T are two spots of white paint on the tail. As you can see from the photos, the detail on this antique dog is what made Hubley famous. Other foundries tried to copy their technique in later years, but it was masterpieces like this one that set them apart. If you collect Vintage Doorstops or Antique Cast Iron Dogs, you are sure to love this one! T is No Reserve and Low Shipping with Insurance Included!
