Up for auction is this Gabriel (Hubley) Diecast Model Kit. It is a Model A Ford Coupe and as you can see all parts are still sealed in their original packaging from the late 1960's early 1970's in the orginal box which is also in very good condition considering its' age. I provide the following background information for your reading pleasure if you are new to the hobby of diecast modelling. Hubley/Gabriel Diecasts are truly a piece of history. HUBLEY HISTORY Hubley diecst models are famous. The company was founded in 1894 by John Hubley of Lancaster PA. Hubley started to make a line of Die-cast metal kits ranging from 1/18 to 1/22 during the 1960's. These kits are assembled using screws and well made. Kit cars such as Ford T's, Ford A's, Chevrolets and Packards to name a few, if properly assembled, are highly sought after by collectors. Hubley was purchased by Gabriel Industries in 1965 but kept the Hubley name until 1967. The kits produced during this period are called "intermediate" Hubleys.
