This is an original rendition Autumn Leaves Console table top by renowned marquetry artist Jeffrey Alan Nelson, which measures 35 1/2"L x 14 1/2"W. The table is 30"H. He works out of his Hudson River Inlay studio located in New York. You may have seen him and his work at a craft show. The art of marquetry is the process of inlaying different types of wood to create the image of the object. No two pieces are ever the same, due to the nature of the wood; its varying grain and hue. There is Oregon myrtlewood in the center and the border is pecan. There is also koa, mozambique, rosewood plus mother of pearl or MOP and abalone shell in the mosaic like inlay. It comes with a listing of which woods and materials which have been used and the corresponding location in the table. After the woods were inlaid in making the piece, it was glued, pressed, sanded, sealed, and covered with lacquer to final seal it. There is no painting. The table edge and legs are made from maple and stained with a dark washington cherry stain. Some minimal wear and tear on the legs. There is a spot about half the size of a dime on the top that is cracked and the surface is raised there. Instead of the drawer the artist designed into this piece, an inlaid panel with leaves is glued to the side of the table and covers the opening on one side. That inlaid surface
