Enchanting old Opal is Solid,,,and a Mesmerizing Soft Dove Grey Background with Pretty Red Fire From Inside The Stone. Authentic Civil War Era and Handmade. Opal is 10 Carats and from the Mid 1800s. The Opal is Very Unique with Soft Grey and Red/ Pink,,,not as bright as some opals,,,but very beautiful with well distributed fire from within,,,with the top of the stone being cut and polished by hand, and showing the handmade surface. The last picture is the underside of the opal. This mysterious old opal changes color every way you turn it,,,with rolling flash. From an old safe in Savannah, Georgia Romantic Antique Necklace looks like the Jewels Scarlett wore in Gone With The Wind,,,and it's of the Period. The Red Opal Cabochon is solid.
