Diatryma SKULL AND JAWS Type: Model Replica Species: Gastornis (or Diatryma) Length (Skull): 387mm (15.25") Length (Jaws): 362mm (14.25") You are looking at a lifesize replica Gastornis (Diatryma) Skull and Jaws. This species is the most well-represented of the giant birds of the Cenozoic, and was incredibly large, standing almost 7 feet tall. This replica is made of high density plastic resin, which yeilds a highly realistic weight and texture. This peice is over 15 inches long, and weighs over 4 pounds! The jaws are separate from the skull, but they fit together naturally on a flat surface for a nice closed-mouth display (see pictures).
