Icon of an Angel, 17th Century Italian School Huge Early Oil on PanelLarge circa 17th Century full length portrait of an angel, oil on panel. Beautiful Icon of an angel finely painted and superbly carved throughput with gold mounts above. This is one of 4 panels that are new to the market and are believed to be of Italian origin based on the style and Latin inscriptions however one of the panel shows and angel holding a flag similar to the St George Cross indicating possible English origin. This panel is in in of significant restoration however the panel is the most unusual composed of several seperate gold carved clouds above the angel, possibly making it a centre piece among the other panels.
