HUGE 1930s MEXICO MEXICAN SILVER OBSIDIAN BROOCH PIN

DESCRIPTION : You are bidding a FABULOUS sterling silver and obsidian brooch that was handwrought in Mexico, circa 1930's to mid 1940's. It is masterfully crafted in a a classical pre-Columbian design with a great art deco look ~ the center has a huge (3" long and 1-3/4" wide) deep, jet black obsidian stone that has been hand carved into the likeness of a diety. The obsidian is secured to a sterling silver backing with prongs and is further secured with twisted silver wire that lends added interest to the brooch. The clasp is a locking "C" clasp that works perfectly. This is a timelessly elegant Mexican brooch ~ classical and sophisticated ~ a very early, fully hallmarked piece ~ it is extremely well made and it would be a grand asset to any vintage Mexican silver collection! SIZE: Length is 3-1/2", width is 2", and the weight is 57 grams. CONDITION : Superior vintage condition ~ no dings/dents to the silverwork ~ no chips/cracks/breaks in the obsidian stone ~ no damage noted ~ just about PERFECT! HALLMARKS : Simply hallmarked "STERLING, MEXICO" as much of the early Mexican jewelry was marked ~ also has a standing figure with wings that I believe is Quetzalcoatl ~ the plumed/featd dragon/serpent from Mesoamerican Mythology/I've never seen this hallmark before! SHIPPING : Shipping charge includes USPS priority mail cost, delivery confirmation, gift bag, bubble wrap, shipping box, packaging tape and daily trips to my rural post office. Treasures are shipped the day of or the day after cleared payment is received. PL EASE NOTE: Mexican vintage si lver jewelry is hand wrought, and tfore, not perfectly symmetrical ~ each piece will have variances that indicate that the piece is hand made ~ this does not constitute damage.
