Up for consideration is a Huge Turned Wooden BUTTER BOWL with Original Paint & Great Patina --- 20 Ã,¼âÂe x 19 Ã,½âÂe x 5 Ã,½âÂe deep --- New England Red - Maple (?) - Good condition. No ReserveâÂe¦ This slightly oval, Farmhouse Shoulder Bowl has exceptional detail âÂeÂ" I count nine (9) separate turnings at 1âÂeÂ, 2âÂeÂ, 4âÂeÂ, 6âÂe & 8 Ã,½âÂe intervals!! The top 1âÂe border is beautiful. It has loads of great original New England Red color. Weigh: ~5 lb. Lots of character âÂeÂ" t is an old 13âÂe repair done in wire-staple-pull style âÂeÂ" still very solid. The inside patina aged the repair so believe done very long time ago and, I believe, was used long after the repair was accomplished. Frankly, this bowl would have been too valuable to just throw away and start new. The New England Red outside paint is spectacular; a great bowl for any collection. No chips. This was found at an old estate in Western New York . The listing is only for the wooden bowl, other props used for scale only. Visit my listings for other primitives. Thanks.
