This is the latest huge collection of costume jewelry that we are selling in bulk. We simply don't have time to go through and segregate the great from the not-so-hot or the "ready to wear" from the "in need of repair" or "parts". It is a very time consuming project intended for someone who loves to "dig" or is house-bound and looking for something fun to do. Or, that person who is thinking ahead to resell items - or use some of this lot for crafts or art projects.
Based on previous experience, you will find sterling, rhinestones, lots of pearls, chains, beads, religious items, collectible pins - and a lot of earrings in pairs as well as those without mates. And pieces that are really lovely and ready to wear as well as those missing stones, parts, etc. This collection includes everything from earrings, bracelets, watches and necklaces to brooches and commemorative pins (Hard Rock Cafe, etc.) pinbacks, cufflinks and rings. I dumped the contents of each bag out in order to take more reliable photos but you are only able to see the surface layer. One small bag already had the earrings segregated so I took one photo of the contents. I glanced at some of the pieces and recognize the names of many well-known designers (Sarah Coventry, Givenchy, Renoir, etc.) So, if you have lots of time on your hands and like to play mix and match, this auction should appeal to you. W do you get so much costume jewelry? Over the years, several buyers have written and asked if we don't mind telling how we acquire so much jewelry. Much is derived from default-on-rent storage auctions, estate sales, probate house clean-ups, etc. It is literally "dumped" into large holding bins until I have time to go through it. I no longer have the time necessary for adequate inspection so it just keeps adding up. So much of the jewelry is tangled that it takes a lot of patience to sort through everything. In the future, the only time you will see us listing items individually or in groups is if I have personally done the purchasing and can inspect at the time of acquisition. All other items will be sold in bulk. If it's any consolation, in all the years we have been selling costume jewelry, we have not had a disappointed customer. And, the average lot of this size goes for between $200.00 - $500.00. Shipping: Because of the heavy weight (approximately 30 lbs. gross), we will be using either Fedex, Ground Service or the U.S. Postal Service, Priority Mail depending on which shipping method is cheaper. That will be determined by zip code. Shipping charges will not exceed $28.00 (U.S. only) regardless of carrier used. We will use the U.S. Postal Service flat rate boxes only if you reside beyond zone 4 as 3 boxes will be required. Otherwise, if you live closer to California and we ship Priority mail, we will use one large box because with the new postal rates, that would be cheaper. Insurance is extra and predicated on closing auction price. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE: Due to import restrictions on jewelry (some very strict, depending on country), this auction is restricted to U.S. only. TERMS OF PURCHASE THESE ARE EASY...... Contact between buyer and seller to be made within 3 days after close of auction. Payment is due within 10 days after close of auction. SHIPPING: The buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance charges. Insurance is elective but recommended on items of value. We cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to uninsured packages. Payment methods: PayPal, money order, personal checks (for orders not exceeding $50.00 value). Merchandise Condition: Almost everything we sell was previously owned but not necessarily used or worn.
