HUGE 40" High BARLEY TWIST PEDESTAL PLANTSTAND HUGE 40" High BARLEY TWIST PEDESTAL PLANTSTAND ITEM This is exceptionally handsome mahogany pedestal or plant stand which could also be used as a pedestal for a favorite vase, sculpture, trophy, fern, etc. It is nearly 4 feet high and features an open barley twist that ascends to a carved Corinthian column which holds up the round top. This is a mixed material piece -- the column, base and top are wood ... appears to be solid mahogany, while the Corinthian column appears to be some sort of composition. This beautiful column would provide an elegant accent piece in any room in your home. Age (ca) mid 20th century Dimensions 40" High and the base is 14" in diameter while the top is 11" in diameter Condition Good original condition. A few minor places of finish wear which is commensurate with age and use but nothing that would constitute damage. Provenance This item is from a lovely old sprawling waterfront Victorian home on Long Island's north shore.
