FULLY RESTORED ANCIENT WOOD & IRON CHURCH RIMLOCK A fantastic opportunity to own a stunning antique wood, brass and iron rim lock. This is a unique handcrafted piece. The solid brass handle slides to the side to open the catch and can be held in place by the iron hook to the side. The key opens and locks easily. Probably one of the earliest 'Yale/night latches' ever made. It comes complete with working key and hand crafted replacement keep, made from reclaimed wood and iron giving it that top quality original look. The lock has been professionally restored to a very high standard and is in full working order and has been given a clear satin finish. The lock measures 26cm (10") wide, 18cm (7") high and 5cm (2") thick. The keep measures 4.5cm (1.75") wide, 17.5cm (6.75") high and 5cm (2") thick. The original key measures 1.5cm thick and 18cm (7") long. The center of the key hole is 11cm (4.5") from the edge of the lock. An impressive piece weighing over 6kg.
