A spectacular large enameled pendant, beautifully enameled in the champleve style, probably made in France, and hanging from a long gold-filled twisted chain. The pendant is made in two parts. The top piece is 5/8 inch in diameter. There is a scalloped black-enameled band encircling a floating white enameled daisy flower. There are open spaces surrounding the flower. In the center of the flower is a clear rhinestone. The bale is attached to the back of this top piece. The bale is heavy, and curved, and extends the entire length of the top piece. The larger piece has an ornate frame, which has finely engraved and raised designs of leaves, flourishes, fleur de lis shapes, and tiny flowers. The heavier parts at the top, bottom and sides have additional enameling in white and black. In the center oval, there is a large area of dark purple enameling. The purple area has a lovely scalloped edge. In the center is a rosette, with white scalloped edges, black background spaces, and green leaves. There is a raised white daisy in the very center, with a clear rhinestone. The large piece is 2 1/4 inches tall, and 1 7/8 inches wide. The chain is 25 inches total length. The clasp is marked, "1/20th 14 KTG", the ring is marked, "PPC, 14/20". Together, the chain and pendant hang 15 3/8 inches from the top of the clasp to the bottom of the pendant. read more
