This is a RARE double-rimmed & Huge ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE BREAD DOUGH WOODEN BOWL and - over time - has become wonderfully warped and somewhat out-of-round. The bowl was hand-turned, as you can tell by the rings, looks like it was made of oak, but I am not an expert on wood. The double lip looks GREAT with the upper lip being approximately 3/8" and second lip approximately 5/8" wide. T are no cracks of any type, it is really SUPERB! It measures from approx. 15 5/8" diam. to approx. 15 7/8". The height of this bowl ranges from approx. 4" to not quite 5", basically rising and falling midway around the bowl. That warped look really adds to the "flavor" of the bowl! The bottom has a bit of chissel type gouge area which was very likely from when it was made. I am saying this because of the darkness of the wood in that location. It has wonderful feel to it and beautiful, rich and deep patina. These bowls are hard to find in great condition like this, particularly in this very large size. I am not putting a reserve on this listing, however, I will be ending the listing 24 hours prior to the end date if t are no serious bids. Any questions, please ask!
