This Antique probably Victorian (or possibly even earlier) Patchwork Bedspread Bed Cover is without a doubt the hugest that I have ever seen or sold! It measures approximately 120x114 inches, and this is an approximation, as the Bed Cover is so large that I could not lay it flat in my home to get its exact proportions! Every stitch has been made by hand, and the tiny stitches have been so beautifully done. I cannot even begin to think how many years this must have taken to create, but it is a real credit to whoever made it. The fabric is cotton, and there is a huge multitude of different colours and designs, which have been backed by cream cotton. There are areas of damage-tears, holes and moth damage, but due to the size of the Bed Cover someone with the necessary accomplishment would be able to repair this by making the Bed Cover smaller and using the excess to fill in the gaps. A real project, but one which will make this into a truly wonderful heirloom for future generations. The Bed Cover has marks which are mostly confined to the backing. Of course it will need to be laundered, but I certainly do not have the knowledge to do this and so will leave it to the Buyer.
