Hi, welcome to my auction, I am selling a few antiques & interesting items. Any questions please email and I will reply as soon as I can. All items will be perfectly packed and sent signed for with insurance. I am happy to have items collected otherwise with arrangement in advance please. I am happy to offer a full refund guarantee that the items I am listing are as described. This auction is for one pair of large curtains that came from a country house estate clearance. I have several to list, they are all beautiful quality and very tall. This pair are magnificent proportions and beautiful quality. The fabric appears to be silk but could be a 50% silk / 50% cotton mix, i will check and update. There are two more pairs but slightly wider (all the same long length). The colour is a deep rich midnight blue with a very tiny gold dot, that catches the light and shades in matt and silk . They are a woven brocade fabric with a French antique style design. The curtains are really heavy quality and were professionally made with no expense spared. The fabric falls to the floor and drapes beautifully. They will look stunning in a period interior with large tassels. They are in clean condition, no holes. Each curtain measures 108” (9ft) wide, ungathered so a total width of 18ft. They are each 136” (11ft 4”) long. Interlined with a fleece interior and plain cotton backing. Point to note - each curtain has a strip of sun fade down one edge, it reaches about 6 inches inwards maximum but would easily be tucked behind within the fullness of fabric, also there are some mild marks to the back cotton but nothing to detract. A truly stunning pair of curtains, outstanding quality. Please see my other auctions for more beautiful curtains.
