EXQUISITE **HUGE** C1900 VICTORIAN RHODIUM & AQUAMARINE ART GLASS BROOCH This is a HUGE Victorian Rhodium Plated Brooch set with a HGUE OVAL FACETED AQUAMARINE ART GLASS STONE and is surrounded by a repousse setting..It is in beautiful antique condition...and is very eyecatching! It is absolutely gorgeous and so typical of quality Victorian jewelry. And these are making a comeback ..quite in vogue today... and weighs 15 grams ! HISTORY It is Circa 1900 by design and styling It is very Art Nouveau in style.. and these Rhodium Plated items are highly sought after.. and this one is no exception due to the fabulous condition of the paste stone ! The brooch is in FABULOUS antique condition and these are becoming harder to find these days......and these LARGE Rhodium Filigree stoneset pins are highly sought after.. The start price is not indicative of its value, I just always start all my brooches at the same price. DESCRIPTION & SIZING This would look fabulous on a scarf or collar of a shirt, or on an antique doll such as a large Kestner. The setting is an antique rose gold color ...that rich buttery hue unlike the brassy yellow gold color of today. . The old C Clasp works nicely indeed . It is large and measures 1 3/8" in length by 1" in width. The center Art Glass Stone is oblong and Emerald Cut and measures 1 1/4" by 7.8" and is approx 45 CARATS in size .The stone is Emerald cut with no visible scratches. and you look at it you can see the prisms through the front ..it looks rather like a looking glass. Just a gorgeous sized piece This setting has filigree scrolls to accentuate the stone. .. I just love this ! The photos do not do this lovely heirloom piece any justice at all..they look quite pale and dull ... .but please check my feedback and many customers do comment the items are much prettier in person. Please note that while I do try to describe the items to the very best of my ability, all my items are either antique or vintage , so tfore are not brand new.
