Up for auction today is this incredible cased glass decanter. I am fairly certain it is Italian, but it is unmarked. It is in excellent condition, no chips, cracks, or repairs. It does have the usual manufacturing marks, such as a few small black dot inclusion in the charcoal overlay and some fold marks in the neck from the handmaking process (please see photos), but none of this detracts from the dramatic beauty of this piece. This piece stands a majestic 28" tall and is 7" wide at the base. It is done in the "gurgle" style, similar to many Blenko or Pilgrim items. It would display wonderfully with any modern, Eames era, mid century modern, Scandinavian, Hollywood Regency, Italian, or Danish modern decor. Designers, don't miss out on this lovely item!!
