Hello and welcome! Tuscany Books offers: An extra large liturgical manuscript leaf on vellum, most likely written in a German scriptorium in the late 16th century. The manuscript leaf is lavishly decorated in colors and gold. T are 37 gold stars at the initial and 78 gold stars on the writing area in addition to other gold decorations, like the heightening of flowers, or the gold border in the right margin.The original looks more spectacular than the photo suggests. The leaf was difficult to photograph because of its huge size. Please check out our other listings offered on ebay. We try to list new items every day and will gladly give a shipping discount on multiple purchases. Size of the leaf for sale: ca.30.75 ” x 22” (780 mm x 560 mm). Condition: In good condition with the customary toning of the vellum and other traces of aging: slight soiling, staining or spotting, original vellum flaws, waviness, edge flaws, fading of the ink, some rubbing of the gold etc. We will mention flaws that cannot be seen on the photograph. T is a 3/4 inch cut in the upper edge in the outside margin. Please note: We never restore or treat our items with chemicals to enhance their appearance.
