HERE IS A REALLY COOL EARLY EARLY KNIFE IT MEASURES 8 INCHES CLOSED , IT IS MARKED SAILOR BOLD, THE CONSTRUCTION IS VERY EARLY, LIKE A CLASP KNIFE THE BOLSTER AND THE LINERS ARE ONE PIECE OF METAL, THE CONSTRUTION AND LINES IN THE BOLSTER LOOK JUST LIKE SAMUEL BARLOW FROM 1780 , THAT IS THE OLDEST KNIFE I OWN THAT HAS A MAKERS MARK to compare , I HAD THIS APPRAISED YEARS AGO AND IF IT WAS MINT THEY TOLD ME AT AUCTION IT WOULD FETCH WELL OVER $5000 20 years ago, I WAS ALSO TOLD IN THE 80s THAT THIS KNIFE ACTUALLY COULD OF BEEN ON EARLY SHIPS OR BOATS AS EARLY AS THE MID 17th century to early 18th century.........THATS RIGHT A HONEST PIRATE SHIP KNIFE. DESPITE THE AGE IT IS IN AMAZING CONDITION, ONE SIDE OF THE BONE DOES HAVE A SECTION MISSING AND THE BLADE WAS USED , BUT THERE IS STILL THE MARK AND THE EARLY SCORING PATTERN IN THE BONE STILL SHOWS. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS, THANK YOU
