This posting is for an amazing lot of vintage Boy Scouts of America collectible hat pins, as found in the estate of a local collector. The sheer magnitude of size and variety in the collection is quite stunning and impressive. Are you a pin collector now? Do you want to be? Here's a ready made collection that will start you off, or expand your collection. There is no way for me to catalog or count the contents, so I am underestimating the number of pins contained (it's likely at least double what I state in the title). I weighed the box with all of the pins, and it was 19 lbs. That's a lot of pins! Condition: most, if not all appear in great condition but with this many of anything condition is variable - please see pictures to get an idea for yourself. As noted in condition, the collection of pins has had the posts removed, and there are no clutches either. Many of the pins were then attached to colored cards with double sided sticky tape - not permanent, but they're attached pretty good. Many cards are missing some of the pins, but I'm sure they're in the loose contents and/or Ziploc baggies. Some obviously came loose over time. There are many- many- many- pins, including roughly 400+ Lodge pins and 400+ Council pins as seen in the first picture layed out on the table in picture 1. Pictures 2 & 3 give you some idea of what those cards contain (close up example). Picture 4 shows the extra black cards I couldn't fit on the table in the first group picture. Picture 5 shows the blue and tan cards, containing many more scout pins of all sorts, sizes and types (mixture of camps, events, oa events, etc). Picture 6 shows the baggies at the bottom of the box (it doesn't do it justice, there are really a lot of pins packed into these baggies). In the final 5 pictures, I opened SOME of the baggies in the box to show what type of assortment are contained....there are far more in the baggies, and many different types and many duplicates. There are also a fair number of larger Lodge pins, which I think were originally neckerchief slides. I ship via USPS Parcel Post unless other arrangements are made ahead of time. I'm planning to use a USPS Large Flat Rate box, which is only good in the USA, and weight matters not. If you would like something special, like international shipment, insurance, or tracking, contact me ahead of time for a quote. I expect payment within 3 days and I agree to ship all items within three days of receiving your cleared payment. When I receive your cleared payment I will leave feedback for you. I will look for feedback when you receive the item (that's my indicator that you got it). If there is any problem please contact me prior to leaving feedback so that the problem can be resolved. Where there is a will, there is a way. My wife sat down this morning and hand counted these items and used a calculator to total them up. Please bear in mind, there is always the distinct possibility of hand count error, but this SHOULD be very close . Here is the number of items you are bidding on. I have had a few questions regarding the condition/description on this listing, so sharing with everyone. As stated above, the posts on these pins have been removed and there are no clutches. They are flat (no post, no pin attached to the back, they were removed) and many, of them have been taped to cards for display by the collector - there are no posts holding them to the cards, rather tape has been used to secure them.
