's probably the largest skinning knife made in Germany. It has never been sharpened but was kept in the sheath for years and shows it; a good cleaning would get it back to the condition it was when it left the factory. OAL is 14" with the blade at 8 5/16" and 1 3/4" wide at the widest place!! The blade, as desribed before, has never been sharpened and shows no signs of use. The stamings are: FA BOWER IMP CO / SOLINGEN / MADE IN GERMANY. The other side has a number 48. T is one very small spot on the edge, that is too small to see in a picture, but it looks like the edge caught something and it flexed it. Not a big deal and probably not noticable by most. The handles are massive stag slabs, pinned with two pins. One side has super color and the other is a bit dull. A cleaning would most likely fix freshen it up as well. No cracks or chips anyw No one pounded with it either. Nice red and white spacers compliment the stag. The fancy sheath is a two color leather, green and brown. No rips or tears in the leather o stitching. The snap and strap work well. Probably a one of a kind German skinner, that would compliment and perhaps be the centerpiece in a large collection.
