HUGE Pair Occupied Japan Figurines - Lenwile Ardalt - 14-3/4" Tall - ca.1946-1952 Incredible pair of Occupied Japan porcelain statues. These date to between 1946 - 1952. Beautifully sculpted, and highly detailed. The hand-painting is meticulous. Signed on the underside with the Lenwile China/Ardalt Occupied Japan shield. The woman is dancing and playing the castinets, and the man is playing a lute while leaning on a pillar. Unusually large - the man stands 14-3/4", and the woman stands 14-1/4". As large as they are, and as old as they are -- T IS NO DAMAGE ON EITHER PIECE! The paint is worn away on the end of the woman's nose - possibly in-production flaw. No chips or cracks.
