You're bidding on a Poul Winslow Handcut EKSTRA Grade E estate pipe in truly great conditon. This is a monster of a pipe, weighing about 5 ounces. It measures 6" from bit to front of bowl, 2-1/2" from bit to shank, 2-1/4" top of bowl from front to back and 1-13/16" top of bowl side to side (one side is curved inward, as seen in pictures). The bowl is about 2-3/8" high and the diameter of the tobacco chamber is roughly one inch. The circumference of the bowl right above the shank is approximately 8" (think about this)! It has a very artistic and winslow-esque feel for being such a big block of briar. It has been loving, and sparing, smoked, and has very small normal scratches- but amazingly no flaws or fills that I can see (again, for such a large piece of briar...). It has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, and the tobacco chamber has been through a salt and alcohol process which removes a lot of flavor but retains the little amount of cake t I hope the Reserve bid is reasonable, given the original retail, condition, and extraordinary size of this piece.
