Italian Pottery Design LARGE Cake Stand Top is 14 inches in diameter and actual cake area is 11 inches in diameter, so this beautiful cake plate will hold your largest creation! I purchased this at Tuesday Morning (maybe 3 or 4 years ago?). It is new and stands about 5-1/2 inches high. The only marking is on the inside of the pedestal and it says "Italian - Made in China" which I find to be a bit funny (how can it be Italian and be made in China??) Anyway....I collected Italian pottery for years and this cake stand looks so similar to the more expensive Deruta pottery pieces that I collected. Beautiful, hand-painted brilliant pattern (see my photos!) This was only displayed in my china cabinet with my other pieces of Italian pottery. I have slowly been selling my entire collection as I moved and no longer have the room to display or store many of my collectibles. Condition is excellent - the only thing to mention is a very tiny dot on the outside dark blue edge that looks like the paint did not cover (it's not a chip...just a very tiny area about the size of a pin head that has the dark blue paint missing.) Plus t is another 1/4 inch area on the edge that looks like it was a firing flaw...again....not a chip or anything that you see without close inspection.
