HUGE - ETRUSCAN REVIVAL GILT COIL BANGLE-FIGURAL EAGLE HEADS- 70grams I am pleased to offer an absolutely STUNNING Victorian Gilt Etruscan bangle bracelet ...with ends that are carved Figural Eagle Heads with amazing detail ..and it weighs an amazing 70 GRAMS This is a gorgeous bangle that is solid not hollow and is a COIL style.. the figural birds are SOLID also hence the amazing weight. .IT WILL FIT ANY WRIST UP TO 9 INCHES Please note that some of the photos have dark shadows on the bangle, but t are no marks or dark spots on the exterior, this is simply reflection due to the high shine of this gorgeous piece as all my photos are taken outside in direct sunlight for a true indiication of color and condition. HISTORY It has a beautiful flowing Victorian design - consisting of a wire coiled band that is flexible and expands to fit on the wrist and the ends are HUGE EAGLE HEADS that were so popular in Victorian times. EAGLE HEAD symbolize LIBERTY This would make a wonderful gift due to its wonderful condition HISTORY It is Circa 1930 by design and styling...and is a Victorian Revival piece. DESCRIPTION & SIZING It is a fabulous antique gold color, .that rich buttery hue with just a hint of rose gold unlike the brassy yellow gold of today.. and it has that antique patina you would expect with quality gold jewelry.... it also has that smooth feel usually associated with solid karat gold This is either gold filled or gilt.. GILT is a thin layer of gold over a base metal usually brass.. These bangles had a thick outer layer of gold over an underlying thin core, hence their flexibility. It is SOLID NOT HOLLOW and tfore can be worn daily and would withstand a lot of punishment. .. The band measures just under 1/2" in width and the finial ends with the eagles measures 1 1/2" in length by 5/8" in width. It measures 9" and will fit ANY wrist up to 9 " and the carvings are intricate and STUNNING !!!... The carved figural eagles have a GRIFFIN look.. or mythological look to them..and they are so intricate and lifelike..hence the term FIGURAL. It really is exquiste , and will one day become a lovely family heirloom piece. It weighs a whopping 70 grams which further adds to its appeal ! The only fault I can see is a little wear to one of the eagles heads but this is only on the inside and not visible when being worn.. and apart from that it is in wonderful antique condition... This is a MUST antique collector of unique bracelets or bangles. The photos do not reflect the beautiful gold color, it was hard to capture ..and the photos appear dull.. I couldnt capture the brilliant shine .........they do NOT do this gorgeous thing justice at all ! Please check my feedback so you may feel confident shopping with me.
