If you are looking for a great conversation pieces something for your loft, media room, shop or restaurant, this is it! I even think it could be a hilarious head board (Guys, what a way to show the girls you are the King! ) I think this will end up in a large loft space or a restaurant as art/decor. This is the second of a set and last one we are going to get of these. We sold the first a few months ago for $2800.00. To a decorator in New York. Recently we were able to get this one that was on the other side of building, the owner had both just didn't realize it until he cleaned out his building. T has been a lot of local interest in it just getting it home! The sign is estimated to have been made the late forties to early fifties and was taken down in the eighties. We are not sure w it was used but we think it may have been from a Best Western motel/hotel or something like that. We do not know what city/state the sign originally comes from.
It is two-sided with red and gold painted crown on a white ground on both sides. It is eight feet wide ( at widest point), 58" tall at top of crown ( plus 2 1/2" for hook at top) so 60 1/2" tall total and 12" thick. T are over two hundred sockets for light bulbs. It would be great lighted solid or flashing! Sold as is. T is a cord attached and the seller did say last time he plugged in a few weeks ago it worked. I didn't plug since some of the sockets are missing. It takes standard size socket bulbs. The seller is also a sign maker dealing with electrical and neon. I was told use 7 or 9 watt bulbs. T are a few sockets that need to be replaced. This he said is easily done T is an access panel on both sides and the faces lift off as well . I am not sure if it will need a total rewire but it will at least require some to be lit. Definitely have it checked out by a licensed electrician. I make no warranty as to the electrical wiring. T is a hook in the center it used to hang from. Please see all pictures. The pieces is in great condition considering being out in the weather all those years and being taken down and moved the paint is a little faded but adds charm, it could be repainted. T are a few sockets missing as I said t are bulb bases in some of the sockets. Some bending to some of aluminum edges that can be hammered out and reshaped. And one of the access panels covers is bent up but can be flattened again and used fine. Please see all picture and write with any questions. This piece would be amazing displayed in any entry way orbehind a sofa, used as a headboard or
as a entertainment room wall/art piece . We will arrange delivery if within 500 miles of Atlanta, GA at a rate of $1.10 per mile one way charge ($100 minimum) or may be willing to deliver to longer distances if you contact us prior to auction end with your location, This includes blanket wrap of sign, loading, packing and transport in our truck. Unloading: you will need help once we get t! I am checking fed ex ans ups limits on box size and weight to see if I can't pad box and ship this piece. I have shipped a small iron bed and it was fine?? I'll have to get it padded boxed and weighed and check to see how much that is. Let me know if you are interested in shipping by fed ex or ups.
