Up for auction is a fabulous estate lot of vintage beaded necklaces! There are at least 175 necklaces in this lot and a full 17 pounds of jewelry here. Most date from the 1950's to the 1980's, a few maybe older (I saw some clasps that were definitely older) and possibly a few newer (but they come from the estate of a woman who died more than a decade ago. She collected jewelry for nearly 5 decades). The weight of this jewelry speaks to the quality. I couldn't possibly inspect such a large amount of necklaces, but I can tell you from handling them for the photos that this is a very clean lot, although there may be a few pieces that need a light cleaning. All the necklaces are wearable (I did notice the gorgeous long single strand pink art glass could do with a restringing) and I only saw a handful that had any kind of noticeable wear. Overall, this is an excellent condition lot. I'm sorry that my photos almost white out some of the lighter color necklaces so that you can't really see the textures and patterns, etc. The materials in this lot are as varied as the colors: Glass~art, crystal, micro bead, milifiori, ceramic, milk glassplastics~lucite (possibly celluloid, galalith, and/or bakelite~did not test), moonglow, faux moonstone, thermosetgenuine stone~jade, hematite, agate, jasper, amethyst, malachite, lapis, faux pearlsenamelshell~ mother of pearl, abaloneorganic~wood, silk, seeds/nuts?gold tonesilvertone There are I believe 30 multi strand necklaces here and many long necklaces/flappers. The longest necklace is I think at least 60 inches. There are also 3 strings of pop beads. There are some metal chain linked necklaces here as well. There are signed necklaces. I can't tell you how many because I wasn't counting or looking at everything but I remember seeing at least the following signatures:JapanHong KongNapierAvonVans AuthenticsW. GermanyThere are so many fantastic necklaces in this lot. I'm sure the winner will be thrilled. Many beautiful colors for the Spring and Summer season: pinks, greens, blues, whites, ivory, cream~red, white and blue, etc. Fantastic Fall colors and Winter as well. I couldn't possibly get photos of each necklace, but I hope you can see enough to realize what a wonderful variety of necklaces are included in this great resale lot! The item(s) in this auction come from the estate of a woman who collected fine and costume jewelry for more than 50 years. She passed away 12 years ago and I am helping the family with selling some of the jewelry they were left. I will be listing many jewelry items (including lots) from this estate in the coming weeks and possibly months so be sure to add me to your favorites and check back often.
