This auction is for a rare beautiful Hull Art Pottery Tea Set in the Wildflower Numbered Series Design in the ever popular Matte finish. The numbered series wildflower pattern, produced during 1942-43, had fewer production pieces, which makes it much more valuable than the "W" Wildflower series. The front of the teapot has two gorgeous flowers, one is a soft yellow and one is ivory with touches of pink, and two deep mauve buds that are surrounded by soft green leaves and branches. The back has almost the same design, except it has one deep mauve wildflower. The middle has a background color of ivory that softly flows down into a sea blue color at the base.The unique lid has a beautiful three-dimensional flower design on the very top. This piece stands approximately 8 1/2 inches high and has a width of approximately 5 1/2 inches. Inscribed on the bottom is Hull Art U.S.A. 72 - 8. Also etched into the bottom is the letter "R", which may be the artist's identification. The Sugar Holder has almost same design as the teapot. The uniqueness of this piece are the two beautiful handles with a pretty bud under each one. It stands over 5 inches high and has a width of approximately 5 1/4 inches.
