As Hull collectors know, the Hull Pottery company closed in the 1980's... however, in the 1990's the Hull Pottery Association formed, the Hull Pottery Conventions began and I was fortunate enough to be able to publish the first Hull Pottery newsletter with my husband. Because of this, we had the honor of meeting great Hull Collector's from all over the country, Brenda Roberts and Joan Hull (publishers of Hull Pottery Collector's books), and especially, ex-employees of the Hull Pottery Company. Additionally, in addition to our Hull Pottery Collection, we gained (as the newsletter publishers) a collection of documents and information pertaining to the Hull Pottery Company and its beautiful pottery. This IS that collection (with the exception of a few exceptional items also listed for aution). In fact, it weighs nearly 8 pounds! Why am I letting it go? Well, it has been over 10 years since I passed along the newsletter... it is time to let someone else be fascinated by, enjoy and even possibly use all this wonderful information. This offering is for two binders of documents and photo's pertaining to the Hull Pottery Company, used in the publication of the Hull Pottery Newsletter and the Hull Pottery Collector's Journal. Examples of what is included are: Copy of the Hull Pottery Company Imperial Florist Ware Line catalog used by sales representatives. A copy of a January 1, 1958 Price list for the Tokay line. Original catalog flier (not a copy) of the Sun Glow line (partial cut and paste) with the original typed price list. An original flier (not a copy) of the infamous "Apple Cookie Jar" (by Taylor, Smith & Taylor) Letters and articles contributed by Hull Collectors and Experts from across the country. A copy of an original Price List brochure for the Rosella Line from 1946, which also states the company's terms at that time. Articles from newspapers regarding Hull Pottery Collections, and values - actual clippings and copies. A copy of the flyer from 1951 announcing the re-opening of the Hull Pottery company after the devastating flood and fire of June 16, 1950 which destroyed the Hull Company (the first time). Color Magazine articles featuring Hull Pottery. Copy of the 1937 patent for one of Hull's utility mixing bowls. Copy of the 1950's Hull Pottery House & Garden brown drip serving-ware flyer. Copy's and originals of information and details about the Crooksville - Zanesville Ohio area and their Pottery Festival. Copy of other Hull Product fliers including Cinderella Kitchenware and other utility wares. Two original newspaper clippings from 1950 showing pictures of the destroyed Hull Pottery Company (intact but showing their age). Picture of painted wood ornaments made by Betty Ford, one of Hull's fabulous hand decorators. Photos of rare, experimental and "special" pottery pieces which came out of the Hull Pottery Plant. (many of these are not published in the available collector's books on Hull) Photo's of some of Hull's ex-employees. Photo's of Hull Pottery experts. Incredible photos of extraordinary collections (the names of the owners will not be included) Photos of Advertisement pieces made from Hull Pottery such as the steins, mugs and pig banks. Poetry written by Hull Collector's. Incredible photo's showing the size difference between the reproduction House & Garden dinnerware and the real thing. Photos of the Hull Pottery Convention with notes. A copies of articles about the second burning of the building that was once the Hull Pottery company, and copies of photos taken during and after the buring (at this time, the building was housing the Friendship Pottery company). Extraordinary photos of the excavation of the foundation of the burnt building showing the litteral tons of old Hull Pottery (mostly bits and pieces) that w discovered. The binders are old, and you can even see the yellowing of age around the edges of the photo album, but the photos are just fine.
