Hummel Apple Tree Girl and Boy #141/1 & 142/1 TMK 3 Large Stylized Bee, W.Germany, Interesting Labels and Inscriptions on Base
These beautiful hummel were part of my Mother's massive Hummel collection that was sold in the 1980's. All of the pieces came from Germany when we lived t in the 50's and early 60's. When my mother sold her collection, I was given the choice of picking out a few pieces for myself. The hummels I am listing this week has been packed in storage since the 1980's and were all pre-owned by my Mother who kept them is a very large glass windowed hutch. Marks, Stylized Bee, W. Germany, 141/1 &141/1, Labels from Weisbarden that says "World's Largest Cuckoo Clock" and script writting on the front base of each figure. The girl's figure base says "Friehling" (sp, I think), and I could not figure out what that meant because I may not be reading the spelling correctly. The boy's inscription says "Herbost" which means Harsh East in German which may make reference to it's name in the Hummel book, Autumn/Fall. These may be German names, unknown. Both figures also has 24.20 on the side of their bases. No Boxes. Size: Approximately 6" or a bit over I am not an expert Hummel collector, but I see no problems with this pieces. I have felt all the edges and examined them to the best of my ability. None of these Hummels have been cleaned as I leave that up to you the expert/collector. Hope that helps! All of you asked about condition issues as noted below: Question :Are t any chips, cracks or CRAZING on this Hummel Crazing is a spider web-like crackling on the surface of the glaze. It is not a crack that goes through the pottery, just the glaze. Answer :I do not see any of these problems on this piece, but I am not a collector of expert with Hummel's.
