This auction is for the Hummel figurine Flying Full Bee Display. This is a blue three dimensional ceramic and plastic version of the Goebel 1950 trademark (TM 2) that was used for display purposed. It has the incised number "WZ 1" and the TM 2 "Full Bee" trademark on the bottom. It is 4.75" tall. It is an extremely striking piece. There are a couple of areas of paint loss that can be seen in the photos above. All four spots are either on the back or sides and do not show when displayed. There is a spot on the Bee's forehead but I think it is a painted highlight as opposed to a paint loss area. I've never seen another of these pieces. The information above came form Miller's #1 Price Book as well as the estimate of value below. I am struck by the "Deco"look of the piece. It could use a good cleaning but we have elected not to clean any of the Hummels we are selling. We know that some collectors like the patina, dust, grime and all. The official Miller's #1 Price Guide, 10th Edition, lists the value of this extremely rare piece at $2,000 - $2,500. Shipping is only by Priority Mail.
