Start the bidding on this Hummel Figurine "Little Cellist" Hum Model: 89/1 - Double Crown. The Figurine is in excellent condition with no chips, marks or crazing. This item is from my personal collection which is quite extensive and many Hummel Figurines will be offered for auction in the next few years. The Trademark TMK1 Little Cellist Hum #89/1 lists in The Robert J. Miller Price Guide (9th Edition) for $750 to $850 and the Double Crown Trademark always attracts a Premium Price. This Older Piece has a rectangular base and the Little Cellist has his eyes open and looking ahead. Please review my feedback as a Buyer on e-Bay. I visited the Goebel Factory in Rodental, Bavaria, Germany in August 2001. The M. I. Hummel Figurines first appeared in the 1930s and were sold worldwide beginning in 1935. Individual molds are used to produce the ceramic pieces that are assembled with a special ceramic paste (As many as 10 to 25 individual pieces are assembled to produce a single figurine). The completed "Green" figurines are kiln fired to produce a figurine that is painted by master painters with distinctive ceramic paints. Again the figurine is kiln fired to to produce the final M.I. Hummel Figurine we all love, collect and display. The Factory Visit is an unique experience to observe the production process and see the Master Painters at work. A great trip and highly recommended.
