Hum 63--"Singing Lesson" M.J. Hummel/Goebel Ca. 1957--CE (Closed Edition) Acquired from a relative's personal collection, this beautifully colored figurine, "Singing Lesson," is a charming rendition made by Goebel Hummel. It features a boy seated on the ground with a bird-friend on his knee. By his gesture you know that he is teaching the bird a thing or two about singing...or maybe it is the other way around... This vintage piece is in excellent condition and is marked with the stylized "V" and the Bee symbol on the bottom; (this stamp being first used in 1957). It is also stamped 63 on the bottom as well as having the M.J. Hummel Signature on the base (see photo detail). It stands approximately 3" tall. The first issue of this model was in 1937 by master sculptor Arthur Moeller. Buying/Selling Details: Please email me if you have any questions or concerns...and please ask before you bid.
