Hungarian ¾ size double bass – usedThis double bass size is the most common among adult players. This is a quality bass which comes strung and with a cover. It is in playable condition but with a fair amount of visible wear and tear.Measurements:The overall length (excluding end pin length) is 183 cm/ approx 73 inches, speaking length is 107.5 cm/ approx 42 ½ inches, body length is 113 cm/ 44 ½ inches and the body width (at the widest part) is 67.5 cm/ approx 26 ½ inches. The spike is fixed and cannot be adjusted or retracted, its length is 10.1 cm/ approx 4 inches. Origin:We received the bass in part-exchange with other instruments from an enthusiastic player from the Cambridge area. We believe it was built in Hungary and we understand it to be a good quality instrument.Body:We believe the body has a solid spruce table and a laminated maple back and sides. It has no cracks but has a large amount of scratches and scrapes over the entire body especially around the bottom, the bouts and on the base of the neck.Scroll:There is unusual plating on the scroll which is gold in colour and is slightly damaged on one side.Case:The double bass comes with a ¾ size gig bag which is padded and with numerous pockets and space for a bow.
