This Bayonet and Scabbard are both Hungarian marked - FGGY - or Hungarian issued. Much harder to find as a set of both Scabbard and Bayonet marked FGGY or Hungarian. The blade is also marked with what appears to be AN OVERSTAMPED Imperial Eagle. This is the bayonet made for the Model 95 Re-worked Mannlicher Carbines and Model 95/34 Mannlicher Carbines. Nice Display Size - overall length of the Bayonet including handle is approx. 14 inches long. - please see pictures to evaluate . This bayonet is coded F.G.G.Y - please see pictures. I have been told that the FGGY stands for Hungarian made. Hungarian made Model 95 Mannlicher bayonets are very difficult to find and very collectable. see pictures. The Scabbard has what looks like FGGY on the frog retainer which would mean that it is Hungarian issue also - Hungarian scabbards are difficult to find . Please see the pictures to confirm and appreciate this bayonet's unique markings. If a person wanted an Historic bayonet for collecting and Display - You would be hard pressed to fine a better bayonet that represented both WW 1 and WW 11- very historic and long term good investment! Please see pictures to evaulate the bayonet and scabbard. Pictures of the items give a much better idea about the items than all the writing that I could do. Please note that this bayonet and scabbard was arsenal re-conditioned prior to re-issue before WW 11 according to two fellow collectors that are more knowledgeable than I. The arsenal usually covered the scabbard re-inforcement with black paint once done to cover the reinforcement of the metal frog. check pictures to better appreciate the over all quality of the bayonet and scabbard. These came straight from the arsenal - so the re-conditioning of the bayonet and the painting of the scabbard was done in a military arsenal - not some nitwit. A very historic bayonet and scabbard set - Great for Display , investment or both. Remember these are approx. 100 years old. If a person only wanted one for his collection - this one would be a great one for a person's collection. These can't help but increase in value in the future. These bayonets were made in the late 1800s - used during WW1 and then re-conditioned in Austria prior to WW11 for re- issue for the police - later during WW11 the bayonets were used on the Substitute Standard Mannlicher Carbines for the German Army. Quite a History concerning these Bayonets. A lot of the re-worked Carbines are availiable and being imported, but the bayonets are much more difficult to acquire. This would be a great time to acquire a Carbine and this bayonet to go with it - while still available and priced reasonable. A nice - very desirable historic Bayonet for display - with or without the rifle. Please see the pictures to evaluate and appreciate the condition of this desireable item. This Bayonet is for the Model 1895 Re-worked Mannlicher Carbines- not the WW 11 K98K Mauser Rifle. SHIPPING TO THE USA - Shipping IS $8.95 FOR THE BAYONET .
