The Second Annual Hunger Mountain Auction Jean Valentine Poetry Manuscript Critique Offered by PhoneJean Valentine, winner of the 2004 National Book Award for her poetry collection Door in the Mountain , is offering a poetry manuscript critique by phone. Manuscript Guidelines: maximum 20 pages, formatted in a 12-point font with no more than one poem per page. The manuscript critique must be scheduled with Jean Valentine no later than July 1, 2007 , and will be completed at an agreed upon time between July 10 - 20, 2007 . A certificate and contact information will be provided to the winning bidder within one week of confirmed payment. Jean Valentine was born in Chicago, earned her B.A. from Radcliffe College, and has lived most of her life in New York City . She won the Yale Younger Poets Award for her first book, Dream Barker , in 1965. Her most recent collection, Door in the Mountain: New and Collected Poems 1965 - 2003 , is the winner of the 2004 National Book Award for Poetry.
