Listing is for a decanter from the 1971 Mint 400 Off Road Race in Las Vegas, made by Regal China for Jim Beam. This is the very race that sent Hunter and his attorney in search of the American Dream and left us with "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". In the movie version you can actually spot Johnny Depp as H.S.T. carrying one of these up to his sound proof suite. These were mostly given out to racers, guests of the Mint and obviously the media. Pretty tough to find decanter and in very nice shape. Open, empty, no damage, no repair. Figural stopper is fine, sits fine in the opening, very snug tight fit, very minor shelf wear to bottom, very minor loss to gold as expected from typical handling- but this displays Great. Near mint indeed.
